All kids have their own little routine when they go to bed. Emma knows her routine all too well and loves to stall as long as possible. The other night I took her up to bed, we sang songs, told stories and then finished with a prayer. As I was tucking her into bed, she said she would like dada to come up and give her a kiss goodnight. Aaron came back down about fifteen minutes later and told me they had gone through the whole routine again, and this is how her prayer went:
"Heavenly Father, thank you this day, thank you nana Gabbart, thank you nana Jacobs, thank you Jack Jack not eat my toys." Then she turned to Aaron and said, "dada, Jack Jack not eat my toys." Then, she decided to end the prayer, "name Jesus Christ, Amen." After she had said amen it dawned on her that she forgot something. She turned to Aaron and said, "dada, forgot prophet and Jesus." He asked her if she needed to say them again so she could include what she thought she had left out. Of course she said yes (it would prolong the inevitable bedtime just a little bit more!) She starts again "Heavenly Father, thank you this day, thank you nana Jacobs, thank you nana Gabbart, thank you Jack Jack not eat my toys, Amen."
